Michael Gove, the Environment Secretary, has warned that Britain "can't carry on" with petrol and diesel cars because of the damage that they are doing to people's health and the planet. "There is no alternative to embracing new technology," he said.
So it would seem that the government are planning these changes to encourage the consumer to abandon the petrol and diesel car for new Hybrids/Electric Cars.
I suppose whether we like it or not the consumer will be penalised in some fashion for driving petrol or diesel cars, whether it's a pollution tax for city centres or a ban from driving in major cities at certain times of the day, it's inevitable that hybrid or fully electric cars will be an increasing part of our future all around the UK including Newcastle upon Tyne.
So yes I can understand that there are significant benefits for purchasing a hybrid/electric car, however, there is still the small matter of the initial price for this type of technology as well as the ongoing running costs.
Now, if you've already invested in a Hybrid or Electric Car?
you do have choices on where that vehicle can be serviced or repaired and it doesn't have to be the main dealer.
Here at Westmoor MOT Centre in Killingworth, Newcastle upon Tyne we have taken a vested interest in Hybrid and Electric vehicles over the last few years as we have always wanted to keep in touch with modern vehicle technologies.
With that in mind we have also heavily invested in the latest Hybrid testing equipment and undergone extensive Bosch training on Hybrid and electric cars.
So if you're looking for an alternative to a franchise dealer and need your Hybrid/Electric car serviced or repaired, please give us a call as we can offer a reliable service that's backed up by the Bosch Car Service national warranty.
